The weather is turning bitterly cold.
So far there is no snow on the ground.
If I must endure cold, please bring me white glittery love.
Inside is warm.
Logs char in the red embers.
Whipped hot cocoa in my santa mug warms my hands.
A tall evergreen stands proud in the corner.
Dazzled in soft, flickering lights and Christmas ribbon.
Wrapped presents wait patiently under it’s boughs.
Charming, familiar tunes play from a dated record player.
‘Round they spin, singing off melodious, holiday notes.
Christmas music effortlessly brings favorable moods.
Mouthwatering scents from the kitchen permeate the air.
Cinnamon, nutmeg, cranberries, orange simmer.
Pretty chocolates and decorated cookies tempt the eye.
Holidays seemingly bring hustle and bustle.
Endless shopping trips and Christmas dinners.
Parties, caroling, and dancing.
Enjoy every moment, but don’t forget to sit.
Beside the tree, with yourself, and ponder.
Gratitude, the true meaning, the reason we live.
Merry Christmas ya’ll! Stay cozy.
