Autumn has always been my favorite season, with its warm tones, crisp air and gentle melancholy. A quiet, reflective time after a busy fun filled summer, it is a season that is both an ending and a beginning, and it is this I wanted to weave into my paintings for the ‘Autumn flower market’ collection. An abundance of harvest motifs, such as ripe pumpkins carefully displayed in wheelbarrows and farm shop baskets, along with lovingly sewn patchwork ones, scarecrows in their finery, Sunflowers and autumnal leaves in a palette of burnt orange, golden amber and deep red, capture the quiet fire of the season.
